Disclaimer: This brand project was completed while working at align.me, Simon Kriss is not a client of Savannah's or July Creative.


Simon Kriss, a leading AI adoption expert in Australia, came to align.me to update his brand identity. The work included creating a new set of brand guidelines and a new website that would inform the visual direction of his LinkedIn and digital presence. I had the opportunity to lead the design aspect of the project and develop the system he now uses for his visual identity.

The task

After learning about Simon's business and the types of businesses he advises, I began researching his competitors and the kinds of visuals that were already out there. Working within a digital world, with the fast changing and developing subject of AI, it was important to ensure the visuals reflected that.


The logo was developed with ideas like communication, organisation and innovation in mind. The concept we landed on utilises a clean, rounded typeface with the .ai element sectioned in a chat box. This alludes to the chat function of many AI engines.


The colour palette was chosen to reflect the digital world, and also with the ability to highlight Simon's work. The bright purple and blue gradient was not intended to be the main feature, but rather a secondary element to stylise iconography, headings and social media assets. Photography was always designed to be the main visual element of Simon's branding, as he has a large library of images from his workshops and events he speaks at.

Result

With his brand guidelines in place, we were able to use the new structure to build out his website, social media templates and case study files. The simplicity of the structure allows for development as his business grows, but the solution holds enough structure to keep his marketing tactics organised and visually consistent. From where we started, the project successfully met all of Simon's needs and has allowed for continuous development of his marketing collateral.
